Renowned director Ang Lee brought Eileen Chang’s 1979 novella to the big screen in 2007 with Lust, Caution, awarded the 2007 Golden Lion for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival.
During World War II, when Shanghai was occupied by the Imperial Japanese Army and ruled by its puppet government, a group of students plot to assassinate a high-ranking official, Mr. Yee, using a honey trap. Wang Jia Zhi, posing as a seductress, is drawn into a dangerous game that will ultimately determine her fate.
Starring Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Tang Wei, Joan Chen and Leehom Wang, the film also won seven Golden Horse awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
