When the brilliant and beautiful university professor Mary Ashley (Jaclyn Smith) is offered the position of United States Ambassador to Romania, she initially refuses, choosing to accept her husband’s desire to stay in America and continue with his medical practice. But after a tragic accident, Ashley soon finds himself struggling to find acceptance as a woman in the international political scene, ultimately becoming the target of a mysterious assassin. As the shadowy plot that surrounds her comes into focus, the new ambassador must uncover whom she can trust in order to survive.
