Based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai, the great John Sturges brought the story to American audiences in 1960 as The Magnificent Seven.
An ensemble cast of Hollywood greats star as the titular seven - Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter, James Coburn, and Horst Buchholz - who fend off a gang of bandits led by Eli Wallach.
Shot on Panavision on location in Mexico, the sweeping desert plains are accompanied by a memorable score from the great Elmer Bernstein, combining with stellar performances, gripping combat, and biting dialogue to forge one of the greatest Westerns ever to hit the screen.

Chico, one of the remaining members of The Magnificent Seven, has settled down in the newly liberated town that they (The Seven) helped. Trouble brews as a lawless bandit takes most of the local men prisoner. Leader of The Seven, Chris Adams, is sought out for help, and he also meets Vin, another member of the team. They find four other men, and they go to help Chico.

When the Mexican revolutionary leader Quintero is left to rot in jail by the forces of President Diaz, it’s up to his subordinate, Max, to bust him out. With $600 in hand, he crosses the border into America and hires Chris Adams, a mercenary of considerable skill, who uses the rest of the cash on more hired guns. After the team is rounded out by experts in close combat, explosives, and knife throwing, they set off to free Quintero.
