Family Ties Season 6

The heartwarming and award-winning Family Ties features a couple who were ardently left wing political activists in the sixties as they face the challenges of raising a family with children who have strongly conservative views. Steven (Michael Gross) and Elyse (Meredith Baxter-Birney) Keaton now have four children, Alex (three-time Emmy winner Michael J. Fox), Mallory (Justine Bateman), Jennifer (Tina Yothers), and young Alex-in-training Andrew (Brian Bonsall); yet they haven't lost their youthful idealism. The ambitious Alex and materialistic Mallory, however, don't share it. Poster children for the go-go 1980s, they'd rather rake in the cash than change the world. In Season 6 the family is in transition as Alex starts a new relationship, Mallory starts an internship at Steven's station, and Jennifer takes a stand reminiscent of her parents' 1960s humanitarian spirit. The Keaton family may be part liberal and part conservative, but at the end of the day... they all share it together.
