A bloodied, terrified woman lands in a police interrogation room where she won’t even reveal her identity.
Flashing back to six months earlier, we learn the woman is Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne), a law-school graduate who has just landed her dream job working for cunning high-stakes lawyer Patty Hewes (Close), who is launching a pitched battle to destroy scandal-ridden corporate titan Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson). As the brilliant, ambitious Ellen becomes immersed in the case, she discovers that things may not be as they appear… and neither may Patty.
